It’s no secret that the inimitable editor in chief of Vogue is highly discerning and her opinion is one of the most highly regarded in all of the fashion industry. So when it comes to the summer trends Anna Wintour is wearing, there are only a few that have earned a coveted spot in her own wardrobe (and therefore, her definitive approval). So before we dive into the styles she’s worn during summers past, we’re also pointing out two current trends we’re positive she’d give a hard pass to simply because they’re outside of her edited personal style.
Summer trends she wouldn’t recommend:
Thong sandals and sweetheart necklines
Wintour’s style is consistently classic and refined, which means she’s pretty selective about the trends she participates in and which ones she passes on. For years, she’s worn strappy nude sandals during the warmer months, so we have a feeling she won’t be venturing into the heeled-thong category this summer, despite the fact that the trend is everywhere. The same goes for with sweetheart necklines, which she’s likely passing on in favor of sleeker square and asymmetric ones.
