Instagram Is My Job—These Are the 19 Coolest Things From My Feed This Month

Instagram Is My Job—These Are the 19 Coolest Things From My Feed This Month

In case you’ve missed this story in the past, I spend a lot of time scrolling through Instagram as a social media editor, which translates to me hitting the save button constantly and a lot of fun things in my IG collections folder (like, a lot). Shoes, bags, bikinis, jewelry, dresses… You name it; I’ve bookmarked it.

To save you some time and energy scrolling through Instagram (it is my job, after all), I decided to start rounding up the items actually worthy of your attention. From the coolest lace-up boots I’ve ever seen to the gold-and-pearl necklace that was basically made for layering and the retro leopard bikini of my dreams, these are the 19 best things that came across my feed in July.

I love the sculptural yet wearable shape of this ring. Stacking two as Kristen Nichols did makes it really stand out.

A Podiatrist, an Instagram Expert, and Mattel Respond to the Barbie Feet Craze

A Podiatrist, an Instagram Expert, and Mattel Respond to the Barbie Feet Craze

Instagram trends can get weird, but before deeming them totally loco, we like to take our time to investigate the hype. Up on the chopping block today is the Instagram craze we like to call “Barbie feet,” which models, celebrities, and fashion girls have taken an obsessive liking to. The idea behind this trend is to pose up on your toes to elongate your legs and flex your muscles a little bit. It appears as though you’re wearing high heels sans the shoes. This positioning of the leg is nearly identical to the propped-up feet of Barbie. Typically, this pose is accompanied by a swimsuit or summery ‘fit since those are the occasions where no shoes reside.

The hype is now confirmed (just scroll down to see all the Instagram proof), so to further investigate, we reached out to three experts in different fields to weigh in—a podiatrist, … Read the rest

Your Favorite It Girls Made These 11 New Pieces Sell Like Hotcakes

Your Favorite It Girls Made These 11 New Pieces Sell Like Hotcakes

Your favorite Instagram influencers have been busy. Not only are they attending fashion events far and wide, vacationing in exotic destinations, and putting together genius outfits, but many of them have also been trying their hand at designing—to great results, I might add. The most successful influencers have been able to harness their sizable social followings and convince their fans that they absolutely need to buy the pieces they’ve designed.

Some influencers have collaborated with established brands while others have formed their very own labels. Editor-turned-influencer Alyssa Coscarelli, for instance, teamed up with Petite Studio, while Aimee Song turned to Revolve for support with her Song of Style brand. Meanwhile, Blanca Miró is designing the coolest blazers we’ve seen in a long time, and Sania Demina is crafting chic and timeless shoes that are taking off with the Scandi set. I Deleted Insta for the First Time in 8 Years—5 Style Realizations That Stung

Welcome to “I Tried It” Week. From our editor in chief purging over 19 shoes from her closet to our assistant editor dressing exclusively in vintage, follow along this week as the Who What Wear editors take on personal wardrobe challenges and document the process along the way.

I would like to preface this by admitting that this whole story is honestly embarrassing for me to write. I first downloaded Instagram back in 2010 before everyone else was doing it (not a flex, just the truth). Back then, Instagram was so different. You didn’t really have “friends” to follow; you just had the small pool of other people who were posting artsy pictures that weren’t important enough to have taken with a real camera. At first, I did not understand what the app was for at all. I remember thinking, why would anyone post a photo here where Read the rest
