4 Risky Trends Nobody Does Better Than Tessa Thompson

4 Risky Trends Nobody Does Better Than Tessa Thompson

In case you missed it, Tessa Thompson‘s Men in Black: International press tour looks were out of this world. While promoting the film in New York City, Beijing, and Moscow, the actress turned heads in ensembles that were marked departures from her character’s notably muted on-screen wardrobe. On-screen, Thompson wore the typical special agent uniform: a classic black suit with a crisp white button-down and a black tie. On the red carpet, however, she stunned in avant-garde pieces that were anything but standard issue.

In fact, we’d go so far as to say that the impeccably stylish actress demonstrated her innate ability to pull off risky trends better than anyone else over the course of the film’s global press tour. From the glitzy Rodarte dress adorned with ruffles that she wore to the world premiere of the film in NYC to the bold Versace suit that she sported at … Read the rest

Margot Robbie Basically Wore a Wedding Dress on the Red Carpet

Margot Robbie Basically Wore a Wedding Dress on the Red Carpet

Summer is the best time to go to the movies, not least because it’s an air-conditioned respite from the oppressive heat. This month has seen the release of The Lion King, which brought us a new crop of Beyoncé red carpet looks, and now it’s almost time for the movie I circled with a big fat red pen on my calendar this summer: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Starring the dream trifecta of Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Margot Robbie…oh, sorry, did you actually need any more info?

Here’s the gist: It’s Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film and it delves into the movie and TV industry in 1969 Los Angeles. Only time will tell if it will live up to the likes of Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, but the red carpet premiere photos will have to tide us over ahead of the July 26 release date. Naturally, … Read the rest

Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Are Dripping in Crystals at The Lion King Premiere

Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Are Dripping in Crystals at The Lion King Premiere

You know what we needed? An amazing Beyoncé red carpet moment. Naturally, Queen Bey delivered tenfold while attending the Los Angeles premiere of The Lion King. She wore a bespoke Alexander McQueen crystal chandelier embroidered tuxedo dress, crystal jewelry, crystal embroidered pin heel sandals, and a crystal chandelier embroidered box clutch. Phew—that’s a lot of crystals, but we’re not complaining. Plus, Blue Ivy matched with her mom in her own tuxedo dress and sheer skirt.

Beyoncé provides the voice of Nala in the film, which hits theaters on July 19 and also stars Donald Glover as Simba and Seth Rogan as Pumbaa. Do you really need convincing to see everyone’s childhood movie come back to life? We didn’t think so. Scroll down to see the best red carpet outfits from The Lion King premiere in Los Angeles, and stay tuned for more sure-to-be-amazing Beyoncé looks from the rest of … Read the rest

Whitney Port Wore a Totally Sheer Dress to the Premiere of The Hills

If you can believe it, it’s been 13 years since The Hills first premiered on MTV, introducing us to the world of Lauren and Heidi fights, Teen Vogue intern life, and combat boots on the beach. We first got word of the reboot back in August, and now the time has finally come to see what the cast is up to in 2019.

The stars of The Hills: New Beginnings took to the red carpet last night to celebrate the show ahead of the official premiere on Monday, June 24. Original show members like Whitney Port, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, and Audrina Patridge joined newcomers like Mischa Barton on the red carpet, sparking more than a little bit of nostalgia. Only time will tell if the revamped version is as compelling as the original one, but it’s safe to say we’re extremely curious to see how things will play … Read the rest

The Tony Awards Looks That Deserve a Standing Ovation

The Tony Awards Looks That Deserve a Standing Ovation

Whether you’re familiar with the Tony Awards or not (this editor hasn’t missed a broadcast of it in 25 years), you probably at least know that it’s the annual celebration of Broadway’s finest performances. Per usual, the ceremony is taking place at Radio City Music Hall and per usual (since 2015), theatre buff Anna Wintour likely had a hand in styling certain nominees and attendees. Wintour always attends the Tony Awards with her fellow theatre buff (and daughter) Bee Carrozzini, who even works in the theatre industry now. And since Wintour’s involvement, there’s often a handful of models gracing the red carpet alongside the likes of Broadway stars like Sutton Foster and Laura Benanti.

This year, the casts and creators of hit nominated shows like Hadestown and Oklahoma are anticipated to walk the carpet alongside presenters like Sienna Miller, Tina Fey, and Regina King. Scroll on to see which … Read the rest

J.Lo Tonight: A Stunning Display of Abs and 43,200 Crystals

Tonight marks one of the biggest nights in fashion (besides the Met Gala, of course): the 2019 CFDA Awards. Taking place in New York City at the Brooklyn Museum, tonight’s awards will honor a slew of incredible designers and notable people in the fashion industry, but if we’re being honest, there is one recognition we are particularly excited for. This evening, Jennifer Lopez is being honored with the official Fashion Icon Award for 2019.

The honoree herself showed up to the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards red carpet wearing a Ralph Lauren look that stunned us all. Or was it her abs that stunned us all? Thanks to her sparkly crop top doused in 43,200 crystals, her abs were displayed in the chicest and most elevated way imaginable. Naturally, J.Lo could have shown up in a velour tracksuit and we would have been just as excited, … Read the rest

Whoa—This Just Became the Biggest Celebrity Trend Overnight

Whoa—This Just Became the Biggest Celebrity Trend Overnight

Now that the red carpet has come and gone, and the 2019 CFDA Awards have finally started, we can sit back, relax, and do some trend talk. While this year’s red carpet was certainly an eclectic one as far as shapes, colors, and themes go, there was one overarching trend we could not ignore: pants. Whether in the form of an evening jumpsuit, two-piece suit, or even coated jeans, pant legs were the trend of 2019.

Everyone from celebrities like Gigi Hadid to industry icons like Eva Chen showed up in the unconventional red carpet trend that always makes our eyes widen. Thanks to designers like Off-White, Monse, and Pyer Moss, these red carpet pant moments we speak of are not regular red carpet pant moments. They’re some of the chicest we’ve ever seen. I mean, Gigi Hadid’s look alone pretty much stopped the show as she walked the carpet … Read the rest
