My Style Is Simple, and These Are My Favorite Summer Outfit Ideas

Yep, I have unabashedly simple style, but I like to think that when done right, simple can be the complete opposite of boring. Actually, I know it. Sure, I love my statement pieces here and there, but when it comes to day-to-day dressing, what I really love is a no-frills look that’s put together perfectly from head to toe—turning a bunch of basic essentials into an inexplicably eye-catching outfit.

I know this sounds hard to achieve, but if you look in the right places, there’s actually plenty of inspiration in the celebrity, street style, and Instagram spheres. Luckily, though, you don’t even have to do that because I’ve rounded up the best outfit ideas here for you today. To see the nine stylish ’fits I’ll be re-creating for the remainder of summer and, of course, shop them for yourself, just keep scrolling.

Priyanka’s combination of a skirt suit, cropped top, and naked sandals is making me rethink everything in my closet. On Priyanka Chopra Jonas: Jennifer Fisher earrings; Dior bag

Shop the matching Cloe Skort ($158).

Kaia has found the ultimate way to make your old denim cutoffs feel fresh for the season. On Kaia Gerber: Mango Double-Breasted Structured Blazer ($130); Brandy Melville Olsen Sweater ($38); Converse High-Top Sneakers ($55); Prada Sidonie Shoulder Bag ($3100); Bagatiba Mini Gold Hollow Hoops ($160); Palm Angels x Moncler sunglasses

EmRata’s little white dress takes on new meaning in belted-jacket form, and the white mules are the perfect final touch. On Emily Ratajkowski: Nasty Gal x EmRata jacket; Steve Madden Erin Leather Shoes ($80)

Ribbed tanks are my favorite new basic, and the next way I plan to style mine is with a simple black slip skirt and sandals.

Of course, I had to get a jean look in here, and this combo is too easy to pass up.

I’ve been very into bike shorts lately, so I think this blouse-and-mules situation will be next weekend’s look.

These Italian It girls have me on a mad dash for some cargo-inspired pants to pair with a tee and strappy sandals.

Pernille always gets it right, but this time she’s really got me with her shorts-blazer-sandal situation.

Last but not least, I love the idea of pairing a loose (and trendy) dad shirt with white jeans and mules. Easy and effective.

Up next? Six things I refuse to wear during summer (and what I wear instead).
