Trust Me—Buy This is a monthly series where our market editor, Nicole Eshaghpour, makes her favorite real-life fashion finds shoppable for Who What Wear readers.
In case you’re new to this, today I’ll be rounding up my favorite items of the moment with more of a personal spin than your usual shopping story. These special selects are the pieces I’ve been loving
not only online but IRL too. With a little help from my shopping-focused Instagram account, @trustmebuythis, where I share my own snaps of items I’m into at the moment, I get to both show and tell you what I’m really wearing every month.
Being that we are in July, this time around you can expect a lot of summer staples. From tank tops, sandals, and the jeans I wear (
even when it’s hot out) to my go-to swimsuit of the season and some of my favorite fun accessories, just keep scrolling to see this month’s finds in action and shop each along the way.
It’s been super hot in NYC, so out of sheer laziness and habit I’ve been wearing some version of this outfit (basic top, denim, and sandals) almost every day over the past few weeks. It’s just so easy and comfortable. Plus, with the right accessories, it looks put together. One of the new buys that I’ve been getting a lot of use out of is this racer-front tank by Re/Done.
I’ve found that a cute bag always helps elevate an otherwise basic outfit—and this one definitely does the job thanks to its very of-the-moment color.
Blogger brands can really be hit or miss, but this Onia x We Wore What bikini is truly worth the hype. I love how it’s simple in theory, but little touches like the upside-down shape of the top and tie detail on the (not pictured) bottoms make it feel elevated and more flattering.
Shop the matching Riviera Bikini Bottoms ($95).
A Staud statement top on serious sale? I think I’ve said enough here.
Another simple outfit in my recent rotation involves this ribbed tee and my new favorite denim shorts by Agolde. They’re the perfect length for wearing with any kind of shoe, and you can dress them up or style them over a swimsuit both with ease.
A close-up of this perfect, ribbed tee.
Sorry you can’t really see it, but this picture is about 10% of what I think is the best dress I’ve bought in years. It’s so unique for an LBD, and the smocking is designed in such a flattering way. I don’t usually wear form-fitting dresses, but I felt so comfortable in it, I was actually surprised.
I think I wore this tie-dye long sleeve from La Detresse four days in a row after it arrived. I love the color scheme, and it’s perfect for having around in NYC because you never know when you’re going to walk into a freezing air-conditioned room.
More white tops and tanks. I had to include Lauren’s With Jéan top in here because, as you can see, it’s (such) a good one. On me is just another recent tank purchase that I’ve probably worn too much but can’t stop reaching for in the mornings. I love the cut and how it’s not see-through at all. Plus, it pairs perfectly with my new cargo pants.
Above you’ll find my first foray into the thong sandal revival trend of 2019. While, at first, I was skeptical, I have to say I enjoyed wearing them much more than expected. This leather pair feels particularly elevated and modern, which I think makes all the difference. And, of course, styled with another cotton tank and jeans.
Just the other day I felt like adding on to my existing bracelet stack, so I thought of wrapping one of my favorite Wald Berlin necklaces around my wrist. As you can see, I was very proud and had to share. The necklace is still available, and now that I know it can be worn multiple ways, I highly recommend.
This photo is actually from a couple of months ago, but I posted it because I had a few requests to share my favorite bike shorts and I’ve been wearing these so much recently. They’re an affordable find from Aritzia, and I love them because they are very simple but high-waisted and a bit tight, so they feel very flattering.
Up next? It’s only July—but I know my favorite fall shoe trend.
